Finding help for injured, sick, and orphaned birds and other wildlife
This time of year, most of the phone calls we receive are from people seeking help for injured, sick, and orphaned birds and other wildlife. Unfortunately, SABO does not have the permits or resources that are legally required to provide wildlife rescue and rehabilitation services, and we must refer all of these calls to other organizations.
To ensure that wild creatures in need receive timely intervention by licensed wildlife rehabilitators, we encourage residents of Pima, Cochise, and Santa Cruz counties to contact the Tucson Wildlife Center. For wildlife emergencies in central Arizona, we recommend Liberty Wildlife. For other parts of Arizona, start with the Arizona Game & Fish wildlife rehabilitation page or the interactive map of Arizona wildlife rehabilitators. For wildlife emergencies outside Arizona, please contact your state wildlife or natural resources agency.
Thank you for caring about wildlife!
