Peanut Butter/Lard Cakes for the birds

From the feeding station at Ash Canyon Bird Sanctuary, Hereford, AZ

Melt together on low heat, and stir to blend:
2 cups chunky peanut butter
2 cups lard

 When fat is melted, turn off heat. Immediately add dry ingredients one at a time, in order given, mixing well after each addition:
2 cups flour
4 cups corn meal
4 cups quick (not old fashioned) oatmeal

Blend all ingredients thoroughly. Press mixture into a wax-paper lined 9×13 inch pan. Cool and cut into squares. Or press into empty commercial suet containers. Chill. Remove from containers as needed and place in suet baskets.
